What is Developmental Therapy?
Developmental therapists provide both evaluations and treatments for children who have or possibly might be demonstrating difficulties in any area of development (i.e. gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional, speech and language, self-help, physical development). Treatments will address skills identified as areas of concern and provide families with the tools and education to best teach and facilitate the needs of their child when therapy is not in session.
Developmental therapists work primarily with little ones 0-3 but often see kiddos through early elementary. A developmental therapists oversees all areas of a child’s development with a strong emphasis on cognitive and play skills, social emotional development, self-help skills and relationships with peers and caregivers.
